WELCOME!
We are so excited to have you visiting us for such a special event! We wanted to give you a chance to check out the weekend events and some excerpts from our wedding webpage. We’ve planned a fun-filled weekend, and you can feel free to join us in whatever events you’d like to! ABOUT US! ![]() For those of you who don’t know us very well yet, here’s what we have up on our webpage about ourselves! |
EVENTS! Thursday:Kristine and the bridesmaids and Eric and the groomsmen will be spending the evening separately for their last single bashes! Friday: Kristine and the bridesmaids will be arranging the flowers for the ceremony, getting a manicure, and picking up their dresses. Eric and the groomsmen will be picking up their tuxes, and this group may meet for dinner. Saturday: Anyone who is interested in attending church at the Hockinson Heights SDA Church can join us there. Church starts at 10:45, and there is a map on page two of this information sheet. ![]() Following church, Larry and Lorna have invited us to go to lunch together at Sweet Tomatoes. For those who don’t attend church, we’ll probably meet at the restaurant at 12:30. If you need directions, let Kristine know. Afternoon events will be discussed at this time as well. If there is an interest, Len may lead a tour of the Columbia River Gorge or another local attraction. |

MEET THE WEDDING PARTY AND FAMILY! Kristine and Eric are the Bride and Groom. If you didn’t know that, then you are at the wrong event!! ![]() Craig Beeson (Eric’s brother) is the Best Man. He just has returned from a year of school at Newbold in England. Robert Gamble and Greg Quilop are groomsmen and have been Eric’s friends since they were kids. Len and Noralee Locatis are the parents of the Bride and Larry and Lorna Beeson are the parents of the Groom. Both sets of parents are probably a little nervous about their oldest children getting married! ![]() Karen Schneider will be flying in for the weekend and coordinating the reception for us, keeping the kitchen team organized and helping us not stress. Brian Guth will be acting as our master of ceremonies and announcing as things happen, with the assistance of Gabe Brown, our technical assistant. Several long time friends of Lorna, Kathy Engan and Nancy Wernick, have volunteer to help us by cutting the wedding cake. Len’s good friend Shelli will be sharing her time preparing some of the food for the reception. And some great friends of Megan (and girls I baby-sat for once or twice!)- Sarah Hansen and Nicole Pepper- have also graciously volunteered to help us in the kitchen, while Sarah Booth (who has been HIGHLY recommended for the job!) will be serving our punch! |

DESTINATIONS: There are many options of great places to visit while you are in town. For an hours drive in any direction, you can get to almost any climate! Here are some of our picks:![]() Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) - This museum is a great interactive place to visit. They have a Omnimax theater and a planetarium, and 6 exhibit halls of great displays to visit. If you go west on 84 towards downtown, there are brown signs that lead you to OMSI - you can see the big red smokestack from far away. Clark County Fair - the fair is running August 4-13, so if you have time prior to the wedding, you can check out the animal exhibits and the rides. Its located 9 miles north of Portland on I-5 and adults are $7 and kids are $3 to get in. International Rose Test Garden - Portland is known as the City of Roses, and this garden shows you why. This is the largest test garden in the country with its over 500 varieties. Its located at 400 SW Kingston Blvd. This is a free garden to walk through. Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge - There are tons of wonderful things to see by taking the scenic route down the gorge. The biggest of the waterfalls is Multnomah, and its worth taking some pictures of! You also can go to Bonniville Dam while you are in the area - the Washington side has a fish viewing room and an opportunity to walk on the generators. There are quite a few other waterfalls, and at the top of the route is Crown Point, which is a beautiful view. To get there, take 84 east from Portland and get on Hwy. 30, the scenic route. Mt. St. Helens - Since this volcano erupted in 1980, many visitors have been to visit the area. There are two visitor centers: The Mt. St. Helens Visitor Center is about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from I-5 and is open Friday–Sunday 9 AM-5 PM; the Coldwater Visitor Center is at the end of 504, open daily from 9 AM–5 PM. Both centers close at 6 PM in summer. You can also go to Ape Caves - a family favorite place in the summer because its so cool. They are giant tunnels made from an older lava flow and are fun to walk through. |
Mt. Hood - the beautiful perfectly shaped mountain that you see to the east is Mt. Hood. Its a nice drive up there and you can see the nice Lodge or even go skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows there. See attached information Oregon Coast - The beach isn’t too far from the Portland area, either. There are great things to do and the ocean is beautiful! See attached information.
LOCAL FOOD! This list includes some of Kristine and Eric’s favorite places to visit:Olive Garden - 8101 NE Parkway Drive, Vancouver, WA - The Vacouver Mall location just remodeled. Their Fettuccini Alfredo is a favorite of Kristine’s. The Chocolate Lasagna for desert is also excellent. Red Robin - 8311 NE Vancouver Mall Drive, Vancouver, WA - Also with a Vancouver Mall location, they do great cherry pepsi to go with your meal. Any burgers can be substituted with a Garden Burger. (But no, they don’t have an Olive Burger, like Eric would like!!) ![]() Sweet Tomatoes - Located on Mill Plain on the East side of Vancouver, this salad bar is the same as the Soup Plantation in California. They have an excellent salad bar and you can put your own toppings on baked potatoes. | |
