Routines. I live by them. I like having a set of rituals that I do every day. When I am forced to change them, I get flustered. For example, I always do my getting ready for work things in the same order. Shower, Mousse hair, check email (again, if I've already been up earlier), lotion face and hairspray hair, get dressed, put on makeup, check boards and finish up online stuff, get the paper, eat breakfast, finish makeup, wake up E, go to work. Almost always in that order. So now I'm carefully inserting things in. After breakfast, I shined the sink. I cleaned all of the counters and emptied the dishwasher and loaded the dishwasher this morning as I shined the sink. After my shower, I cleaned the floor in the bathroom quickly and straightened the countertop. I'm trying to keep my diningroom table as I sit there eating breakfast. If I can insert things like these into my morning schedule, I'll have the majority of my hardest-to-accomplish tasks placed in workable blocks of time.

I'm proud of myself for doing this slowly. If I do it slowly and get it as a ritual thing, I'll feel much better about home, and in turn, my self. :)

Yea.

I sure like how every single employee has gone in the bathroom in the last 15 minutes (I can see from my desk) - everybody getting in a potty break before breaktime. Bother. Don't people remember that their BREAK is for activities like that? Hmm, let's take a break and use the restroom 5 minutes before taking another break. Duh.

I really like the people who just walked out the door 5 minutes early to go to break, and then will come back 5 minutes after its over. Why are people unethical about their work time like that?

Maybe its only me that's bother by these kind of things

My weekend was relaxful. I had a headache off and on all weekend, so we didn't do much besides sit around and play and watch movies.

Friday night, we went and saw America's Sweethearts with my sisters and mom, which was very cute :) I love Julia Roberts :) Kiki, kiki, kiki

We had free preview of Showtime and The Movie Channel this weekend, so we watched part of Teaching Mrs. Tingle (which I wanted to see for the Katie Holmes/Barry Watson scenes ;) ), and then part of Rules of Engagement. It got late, so I taped the end. The tape was bad and didn't record the sound. So I'm gonna have to rent it at some point so I could see what happened. It was pretty bloody in some parts, but interesting.

Watched other assorted things - Runaway Bride, the NSync road to Celebrity, Mickey Blue Eyes, a couple of great tv movies: The Stranger Beside Me with Tiffani-Amber Thiessan and No One Would Tell with Candace Cameron and Fred Savage (one of my fav TV movies - really powerful, even though its sad) and probably a lot of crap in between :) I like having the tv on while I'm working on the computer. I think E would rather work in silence. So we compromised a bit :) Not that I worked super hard, I played and surfed more than I accomplished anything. That's okay, I don't have to be super-designer every weekend!!!

I'm working on some style sheets, and so I finally broke down and bought my very favorite piece of software that I'd been trying out with nag screens - Top Style - I'm so glad to finally own it. Its perfect for me because I can hand code my css, but I have the options to use the tools, too. The beta of 2.5 is really cool looking too... I love the color picker options, and I'll gladly get used to them :)

With some of these designs I'm doing, I'm interested in doing "inspired by" designs. Where you capture the feel of a popular and recognizable graphical based site with very basic css. But I don't know where the fine line is for infridging copyright on something like this. I plan to credit who the inspiration is right in the template, and its different, but has the same feel. I need to reevaluate whether or not this is going to work or not. I really like the idea, though. Hmmmm...

E didn't come to bed last night until just about the time I was getting ready to wake up - he had slept too much the night before, and had a headache, so he had napped... Poor guy, so now he's at home trying to get a bit more sleep. This week will be busy for me, but I get to come in late tomorrow (follow-up dr appt @9). Lisa isn't working afternoons, so its just me in the office all afternoon M-Th. Wow, that'll keep me busy. Hopefully I can stay calm and happy through it :)

Last weeks theme for at music was angry music. This morning, I'm trying the calming music - thanks to Jenn at lunate, I downloaded 3 Tori songs: Spring Haze, Crucify, and Girl. Add to that a bit of Tara, Sarah, Nina, Leigh Nash, and Plumb, and I might stay calm for a while :)

My horoscope for the day:
The person who is most organized and stable will win the race - so let this be you, Kristine. Be careful, though; other people may try to distract you from your work, especially in social situations. You may be in the middle of an important project at work and you decide to take a break for coffee. You find yourself in the coffee room and before you know it, someone is talking your ear off. Suddenly you are trapped with no way to escape. The break that you hoped would take no more than five minutes has turned into a forty-five minute interruption in your day.
I guess I'll stay at my desk all day to keep from being sidetracked ;)
